Roy Northern provides various clients with Preliminary Field Reconnaissance and Archaeological Impact Assessments on proposed oil and gas development activities; BC Hydro developments; forestry cutblocks; private, commercial, and industrial property developments; along with associated infrastructure. This includes desktop analysis on a project-to-project basis to identify developments likely to contain archaeological sites and, as required, subsequent field assessments and archaeological site management recommendations. These results are summarized in interim, annual, and final reports for proposed developments. Field assessments include pedestrian traverses, subsurface testing, and the recording of cultural resources. Whenever possible, Roy Northern encourages our clients to invite local First Nations to provide participants. Roy Northern’s professional archaeologists have extensive knowledge of the Heritage Conservation Act and have positive working relationships with regulators at the BC Archaeology Branch and BC Oil and Gas Commission.
