Roy Northern has been providing Caribou Habitat Assessments for several years pertaining to industrial development in Northeast BC. Roy Northern has developed site specific industrial mitigation plans for Northern, Boreal, and Mountain Caribou, and has performed field surveys investigating and evaluating potential changes to Caribou in high-risk areas. Caribou habitat evaluation services include performing arboreal and terrestrial lichen inventories at various altitudes such low elevation pine leading stands, identifying key habitat indicators such as calving and rearing habitats, predatory avoidance areas, interpreting historical caribou data sets and evaluating changes to predator prey relationships between wolves and caribou caused by implement industrial developments. Roy Northern professional biologists are well versed in the current legislative protection and management practices issued by the BC Ministry of Environment, BC Oil and Gas Commission, and by the private sector.
